New times in Communication

inholland

The communication EXPO week is a yearly event held by InHolland HogeSchool, where students and companies are brought closer together. On one side by a great offer of guest lectures from national and international organizations. And on another side by strong pitches, where students work on a case for a week in order to solve a communication related issue for the companies.
This year the Expo theme is ‘New times in Communication’. “Hereby we will concentrate on all communication developments of the past, present and future. The new media is the highlight during this event, at which we will look back on the past, retro in a playful way.”

Last week, CRAVE amsterdam participated in the event as a guest lecturer.
I am delighted to see that the university has intention to let these young students get involved with the real business world. Marketing requires not only the attractive creativity but also the practical sense. It is important to integrate the new ideas from these young people, while proceeding the concept with the more practical steps. It is win-win situation if the students ideas are being considered: students learn the lesson and the companies get the direct contribution from the markets.
At the end of the event I was happy to see that our CRAVE team won the student competition within the university.

Art in Heaven

daniella

Unlike most ateliers that are based in souterrain, Daniella Rubinovitz’s Atelier is situated in an inspiring attic of a monument building on Prinsengracht.

Daniella runs the Atelier Werkplaats Molenpad, which was established in 1975 by Michiel Dhont. At this Atelier, Daniella gives intuitive painting courses for personal development.

She connects intuition and emotion with art, guiding you to make contact with your own inner wisdom.
The meditations start upon climbing the stairs. When you enter her studio you are invited to leave your thoughts behind to start painting. Then you can continue with personal dialogue with your own creation. This process supports the mindlessness of being where you can experience your own inner peace. Aesthetics judgments are set to the side, allowing the existence of freedom.

She gives group courses, one off workshops, and individual sessions. If you want to be in the know, you can sign up for her newsletter.

thankyoucards

Have you ever walked into the standard grocery store, browsed through the greeting cards section in hopes of finding something decent with which you could express your gratitude, and instead found yourself deeply disappointed with the tacky designs and clichĂ© messages that they offer? We have! So we’ve investigated the small local businesses that know their stuff when it comes to stationary good and accessories. Take a look!

A bit of BLOND everyday

BLOND-AMSTERDAM started in 2001 in Femque and Jannekes first ever studio at the Spuistraat in Amsterdam. The colourful and sometimes naughty style of the earthenware and paintings immediately appealed to a large audience. The personal illustrations are carefully created at the girls shared desk.
The reason for the enormous popularity: Blond Amsterdam represents a certain attitude to life: light, positive, naive, cheerful and accessible.
