What is Your Theme Song?

« Read the full blog

Remember Ally McBeal and her theme song? I believe every entrepreness should have one for fun. Mine is Flashdance…

What a feeling…

Take your passion and make it happen…

I can have it all! I am dancing for my life…

Nothing but a dream…

Every time I am feeling a bit low I play that song and my spirits lift immediately. A few years ago for my birthday I invited my girlfriends to a loft and had a Flashdance Festival. We learned to dance the Flashdance song clad in leg warmers and ripped sweatshirts. We took a test on what are your five top passions and got our toes painted silver. I like to create memories and build relationships at the same time.

Annie Leibovitz says, “Music on a shoot isn’t just background. It raises the mood, sets a tone. The right music at the right time elevates the situation. Music can make or break a shoot.”

    Hey Melody,
I liked your post today about theme songs. I know that birthday was a fun and powerful experience for you. My theme song changes year to year. I’m about to pick one for this year! If any of your Crave Biz gals want help picking theirs, I’m offering a “Life Design 101″ workshop that kicks off next week. We meet every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30pm for 5 weeks. You get the creative minds of two instructors who help you find and follow your bliss, including a theme song to keep you motivated and dancing through work and life! -Whitney Keyes

    Van Halen’s “Right Now”. It’s a great upbeat, inspirational, get-off-your duff-and-you’ll-be-triumphant song.

My theme song is the theme to the old TV show ‘Bewitched’! It’s the ringer & ringback tone on my phone, it plays on my blogs, and I use it in videos and taped messages when I can.

It’s fun, upbeat, catchy, timeless, and it perfectly fits me: I create visual magic in everything I do!

Funny coincidence: When the Electrolux appliance commercials with Kelly Ripa and the ‘Bewitched’ tune started to run on TV, my friends & clients told me that Electrolux had ripped off MY song! That’s Branding, baby! ;0)

I totally believe in owning your own theme songs!

Mine would be ‘I Can Se Clearly Now’ by Johnny Nash. It’s an oldy but always reminds that not long ago life was very hard for my family, but that is all changing and it’s going to be a bright, bright, bright, sunshiny day.

Right now, my theme song is “The Bomb” by Bitter:Sweet. It’s the Lipstick Jungle theme song and some of the lyrics are: “Be all that you can be…make a difference, give your dreams to me…no time for sleeping there’s too much to do…let’s gets nuts let’s spend some money…” (although I always say “let’s MAKE some money”)
*Make sure you make your theme song your ring tone! I did =)

Mary J. Blige’s, Family Affair. (Get your ass on the dance floor!) It reminds me of my girlfriends–an instant party–even when I’m just folding laundry. And Stevie Wonder’s Boogie on Reggae Woman–it’s impossible to sit still. Your Flashdance party was so much fun. . .

My theme song is Girls just wanna have fun! By Cyndi Lauper. I carry alot of what I call girl humor merchandise. I’ve had several women come into the store at different times and tell me “I just had to come to C.Q. for an uplift. They just got told off in traffic, bad day at work, etc. They come in read, laugh, talk, and go away feeling better.
