About This Event:

In the spirit of Halloween, October‘s CRAVEfuel is all about FreakOuts. Have you ever had a freakout moment? Is there something in your life or business that is currently sending chills up and down your spine? Everyone has their own unique freakout stories, and we all live with fears of little things that go ‘bump’ in the night, whether real or imaginary.

We will be sharing what makes us freak out and comparing how we all express our freakouts differently within the same subjects. Join us in sharing your fears and gain new perspective at an event filled with inspiration, juicy conversation and meaningful connections.

At CRAVEfuel, we get to heart of what’s going on, what needs to change, and how to take that first step. No topic is off limits!

  • CRAVEfuel lasts 2+ hours. Includes tea, coffee and light snacks.
  • The first 20 minutes features a speaker or panel of speakers on the month’s subject.
  • Small group discussions follow where each person’s challenges are workshopped.
  • If you are a woman in transition, a woman longing for “what’s next,” or looking for a community and friendships, this event is for you.

Please note that the doors to the building are locked outside of business hours, so please call Jan at 303-956-2712 or email at Jan@craveparty.com to enter the building.

Volunteers gather regularly to bake and sell challah, raising money and awareness for social justice causes. Challah for Hunger will celebrate its ten year anniversary at the end of the month!

Jessica Tata and her husband William began Son of a Sailor over three years ago. They met in San Francisco, but he soon wrangled her into returning to Austin, where she had moved from three years prior. Before starting SOS, Jessica spent 7 years working in museums and galleries in Austin and San Francisco. She is herself a photographer, but professionally she found her passion in arts administration and curation. She also worked in interior design for quite some time, most notably as a contributing writer for Apartment Therapy. Fine art and design are constantly intersecting, and she has found herself at that intersection point time after time. After spending a fantastic year at a critically acclaimed, groundbreaking photography space in San Francisco, she returned to Austin with William to plant some roots. Since her return in November of 2010, she and William bought a home, began Son of a Sailor, and got married!
Over three years later, the business is growing into a lifestyle brand with accessories for men, women, and home. Son of a Sailor has become a family business, with a wonderful staff of five kick-butt employees, two apprentices, and their dogs, Bruce Willis and Clint Eastwood. You can visit them at their East Austin studio in the Canopy complex.

A dinner party filled with inspiration, authentic conversations and deeper connections

Hello. I’m Melody Biringer, the creator of Urban Campfire.

We loved our first Urban Campfire dinner party in Denver so much we couldn’t wait to come back. On November 12th we’ll be kicking off at 5pm. It will be an action packed evening of incredible storytelling by our speakers and YOU. We’ll be sharing dinner and dessert together at The Studios at Overland crossing. (We swoon over this venue!)

For this campfire I’ve picked the theme:

It’s time to
OWN YOUR STYLE*

(*and by style, we mean the stuff that makes you tick – how you live and who you love, what brings a tear to your eye and a smile to your lips, your passions and pleasures, the things that make you light up inside – NOT the label in your jeans*)

We’ll take a journey from our past to the future. What in our lives has influenced us the most? Who and what has made us who we are today? And secondly, what do we care about most? What are our dreams? We’ll remember and reclaim those things we already crave. I want everyone to Own Their Own Style, to be empowered and give their gifts to the world.

Magic will happen… hope to see you there!

XOXO
Melody
