« Read the full blog

Ladies, we’re officially witnessing fall in Portland! Some days, the dreary gloom in the sky drains the life out of my creative inner chef. Do you know what that means? It’s time to bundle up and explore this fabulous city of ours to find the latest indulgence!

Apizza Scholls: Whether you’re looking for cozy or chic, you’ll be able to relax and nosh on some great food at Apizza Scholls in the Hawthorne District. It’s Apizza perfection! Apizza Scholls believes in the craft of pizzaiolo, to dedicate their life to the perfection of pizza.  Enjoy the freshest of toppings and savor their Caesar salad. Vampires beware—it’s heavenly garlic at Apizza Scholls! Follow Apizza Scholls on twitter.

Andina Restaurant: If you’re looking for a sassy martini with a flaky pastry, slow cooked beef, ceviche or oysters with a salsa tray, Andina in the Pearl is the place for you. They offer small to large plates serving delicious food in a comfortable setting, generally alongside live music! And happy hour is perfect for your book club meeting or a relaxing ladies night after work. Andina takes Latin cuisine in Portland to the next level offering a genuine taste of Peru. Piazza Italia: Another fun getaway in the Pearl is Piazza Italia. Proprietors Gino and Kevin have an authentic Italian atmosphere decorated with their favorite things. Vino any one? They have an amazing wall of wine and the bologanese is AMAZING. What a great little Italian joint hidden away in the Pearl. We recommend making reservations if you’re looking to dine on the weekend.

Mother’s Bisstro & Bar: On the Southwest side of downtown is the fabulous Mother’s Bistro & Bar. If you haven’t heard about Mother’s then you’re in for a treat! Chosen as best restaurant, best brunch, best lunch and nationally recognized for “Americas Top Restaurant Bargains” by Food and Wine Magazine, Mother’s features authentic dishes by mothers from all around the world! Everything is made from scratch and the sunny side room is decorated with charming chandeliers and gilded mirrors, perfect for post or pre theater cocktails and late night dining. Follow Mother’s Bistro & Bar on twitter!

Por Qué No Taqueria: This wouldn’t be best of restaurants if we failed to mention Por Qué No Taqueria. Grab your friends, family, and even the stranger looking for a place to eat and visit Por Qué No at either one of their two locations on N. Mississippi and SE Hawthorne. They have traveled from the Pacific Coast of Mexico to the mountains of Oaxaca to share the essence of their finds for their guests. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner so we can indulge and savor fresh ingredients.
