Herban Feast is a steward of its community. Its commitment to supporting local producers and sustainable practices are core to the company’s mission. Herban Feast sources most of its ingredients from local producers and farms, including Willie Green’s Organic Farms, Full Circle Farms, Alden Farms, Mt. Townsend Creamery, Foraged and Found Edibles, Tonnemaker Orchards, Theo Chocolates, and more.
Herban Feast continuously seeks new ways to use local suppliers in an effort to assist the area economy and agriculture community and tread more lightly on the environment. The company develops and maintains close relationships with area growers and farms – even sourcing specialty items planted for exclusive Herban Feast use. Through promotion, innovative menus and participation in events, including those at Sodo Park, Herban Feast is instrumental in increasing awareness of the abundant products created right in our back yard.
Herban Feast’s sustainable practices include full recycling and composting, and use of biodegradable plates, utensils, napkins and bag-liners. Remaining food during events is prepared for guests to go, and sustainable décor is promoted. The company’s Sodo Park event venue features the reuse of products and materials from local salvage yards and businesses, including its notorious reclaimed chandelier lighting. The space, housed in an historic building, takes advantage of natural day-lighting enhanced by soft fluorescent as needed, utilized no voc paints during tenant improvements, added low-flow faucet nozzles, and incorporates sustainable items such as Meyer Wells tables and recycled aluminum chivari chairs for event use.
