Mónica Guzmán
moniguzman.com
Mónica Guzmán is a Seattle writer and one of the newest additions to the team at Intersect, a Seattle tech startup headquartered in Belltown. From January 2007 to May 2010, she was a reporter at seattlepi.com, where she wrote a tech blog and column, ran its award-winning Big Blog and organized weekly reader meetups around the city. Exploring ways to connect readers to news has made her something of a tech tools evangelist; she speaks in classrooms and conferences about community engagement, social media and promising tech trends even as she tinkers away on Facebook and Twitter. Mónica serves on the boards of Seattle City Club, the University of Washington Information School’s Masters of Science and Information Management Program and the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. In May 2009, she was named one of the Top 100 Women in Seattle Tech by tech news site Techflash.
