That’s why CRAVE is proud to support Women’s Funding Alliance (WFA), the leading nonprofit foundation in Washington state that invests in and advocates for women and girls.

WFA gives support to organizations around Puget Sound that ensure women and girls have the rights and opportunities to reach their full potential and become leaders in their communities. The five main issue areas addressed through WFA grants are:

  • Civic Participation and Leadership—allowing women and girls to participate in the political process and develop their leadership abilities.
  • Economic Opportunity—giving women the means and opportunities to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
  • Education—helping women and girls learn and be successful.
  • Health and Well-being—ensuring that women have the right to self-determination and healthy choices.
  • Safety and Violence—fostering communities in which women and girls are safe from violence, sexual assault and discrimination.

In 2009, WFA invested nearly $540,000 in 33 organizations around the Puget Sound region—allowing them to help more than 170,000 women and girls.
